UPCOMING BOARD MEETINGS

2009 Board Meetings are Scheduled for Friday January 23, and Friday April 17th.

Board meetings are held at Horizon Community Center at 10 a.m.   As always, these dates may be subject to revision.

*The Sonoran Heights Association Annual Community Meeting will be held at Mountainside Middle School Auditorium on March 24th from 6 -8 p.m.

Let's all help to build a better community!

DRIVING SAFETY

Please drive safely throughout our community as our children are walking to school, neighbors are out walking, and wild animals are crossing the streets.

PAINTING HOUSES, MAILBOXES, GATES & WALLS

We have posted a document (When to paint your home) to the Community Documents page describing the benefits and responsibilities for painting your home.  Please read this.  To answer a recurring question, the Board and the Architectual Committee is not empowered to enact any variances.  The painting regulations are dictated by the HOA's CC&Rs and the Articles of Incorporation.   The homeowner is obligated to paint the mailbox and all gates/walls facing any HOA street with one of the three (3) original colors.

ROCK -- ARCHITECTURAL GUIDELINES UPDATED !

The Architectural Committee has recommended list of rock facings for homes.  This will enable you to add distinctiveness and value to your home.  Debra Lee has the colors and samples from the vendor Coronado.

ARCHITECTURE  & LANDSCAPE COMMITTEE

The Committee's mission statement for 2009 is "What can we do to make our community more attractive?"  If you have any suggestions, please send email to debra@debrahlee.com.

Remember, there are 11 paint colors as well as corresponding trim colors to update your home!  Contact our Community Manager, Mary Ernst, at mernst@associatedasset.com , to find out the latest colors and obtain approval.

DATES FOR BRUSH AND BULK ITEM REMOVAL

Here's a link to the City of Scottsdale site for brush and bulk item weeks and map (http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/recycle/brushmap.asp)

SHA is in the Bell Road to Cholla Area.

Have all of your brush and bulk items at the curbside by 5 AM.  Do not place your items curbside more than 3 days prior to the week of pickup.

DO NOT FEED THE WILD ANIMALS

Do not feed the wild animals as this is not good for their natural existence and it creates an expectation, by the animals, that they can get food at homes in our community.  This has caused situations where wild animals have confronted neighbors and have tried to enter homes to get food.

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

Please see the MESSAGE BOARD page for new information from the Communications Committee.  We've added information about Desert Hikes, Desert Plants, and Food for Thought.  Future updates to this page will include Neighborhood News.  Check it out!
