CATS Union County Expansion:

Did you know that by December 2018, the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will have locally preferred alternative transit routes (lines on a map) extending from uptown Charlotte to the southeast (to Matthews), to the north, and to the west?  These planned routes are in addition to the currently operating line to the south and the soon to be open Blue Line Extension to the north (to UNC Charlotte).  Counties surrounding Mecklenburg are being asked to come to the table to discuss regional transit and what comes next.
County-level meetings for Phase 2 of the Regional Transit Engagement Series (RTES) have been scheduled for late August and September.  The Union County meeting will be held on September 13 from 9 am – 11 am at the Old Armory Community Center in Monroe.  The audience for RTES Phase 2 meetings includes local, state, and federal elected officials and staff, economic development staff, representatives from the private sector, other transit stakeholders, and Phase 1 meeting participants (local government staff).
